Often, people come to us with a specific diagnosis in mind, but that’s not our emphasis. We focus on YOU and YOUR EXPERIENCES. We think in terms of cognitive and emotional arousal, and are more focused on what it’s like to be you, and how you want to think and feel differently. Simply put…
YOU ARE A PERSON, NOT A DIAGNOSIS
We teach the brain to focus appropriately for the task at hand, and how to relax and rest when it’s time to do so. Once your brain learns these important tasks, you can think more clearly,
* A note about children…
We do not have a specific minimum age cutoff. Children must be able to sit calmly for the assessment, which involves
- Wearing a tight-fitting QEEG cap, and allowing us to prepare for the assessment (See the QEEG page for more information about this)
- Sit calmly for 10 minutes with eyes closed
- Sit calmly for 10 minutes with eyes open
Children must be able to be able to be well-behaved while in our facility, respond to prompts from staff, and sit still and participate in training sessions for 30-45 minutes. We work to keep the process as engaging and interesting as possible for children, but it is a training process. While staff will direct the child with instructions and occasional redirections, it is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to ensure the child remains compliant and participates in training.
